Government schools in Delhi for the remaining classes (Nursery to Class 8) resumed offline classes from today with strict adherence to Covid guidelines.
While government schools have been reporting over 80 percent attendance after they reopened in September for classes 9 to 12, private schools are in the process of sending out consent forms to parents and most of them will decide their plan of action post-Diwali.
Schools in the national capital for classes 9 to 12 re-opened on September 1 after a prolonged closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The physical classes for 9 and 11 were earlier allowed to function from September 1. Meanwhile, the schools for classes 10 and 12 were reopened early, and students were allowed for work related to admission and practical activities for board exam
As per government SOPs, the classes will function at 50 per cent capacity, all educational institutions will have mandatory quarantine centres.
The schools, varsities in Delhi will reopen from September 1. Education Minister Manish Sisodia said, "It has been decided to resume schools, colleges, coaching activities in Delhi with all precautions, in a phased manner. From 1st Sept, classes for std 9-12 in all schools, their coaching classes as well as all colleges/ universities will be permitted to resume." Classes for 9 to 12 will begin from September 1 and classes for 6 to 8 will begin from September 8, as reported by news agency ANI.
