It was 10 degrees below the normal and the lowest ever for the month of June, primarily due to rainfall, thunderstorm and gusty winds under the influence of a western disturbance.
Delhi recorded a mean maximum temperature of 37.5 degrees Celsius in May, the lowest for the month in 13 years, the India Meteorological Department said on Monday.

As per the meteorological department, the minimum temperature today in Delhi has dipped down to 19 degrees Celsius while the maximum temperature is likely to touch 31 degrees Celsius.
"Possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places" as a result of interaction between the remnant of cyclonic storm Tauktae and a Western Disturbance, the IMD said.
The IMD has predicted that light to moderate rainfall will continue for next three hours in Delhi-NCR.
As Cyclone Tauktae weakens further, its remnants will bring moderate rains to several parts of north India including the Delhi-NCR region, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Tuesday.

The minimum temperature in Delhi is likely to rise to 9 degrees Celsius in the next two to three days under the influence of the western disturbance, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) had said on Saturday.
On Friday, the minimum and maximum temperatures in Delhi settled at 11.3 degrees Celsius and 25.8 degree Celsius, respectively. Westerly-northwesterly winds blow from snow-laden western Himalayas towards the plains.
Soon after it started drizzling in the national capital on Sunday evening, the Delhi Fire Department received multiple calls reporting “oil rain” from all over the city. The fire department is currently investigating the matter amid some roads being closed after bikers slipped.
Delhi is likely to receive light rainfall on Wednesday, which could be the last precipitation of this monsoon season, the MeT department said. There has been no rainfall in Delhi for two weeks. The last time Safdarjung Observatory, which provides representative data for the city, recorded any rainfall (1.3 mm) was on September 8.
Dry weather pushed the mercury slightly up in the city on Sunday and a fresh spell of rains is likely next week, the weatherman said.
Central Delhi has recorded 62 per cent less rainfall this monsoon season so far and is the second-most rain deficient district in northwest India, according to India Meteorological Department data.
The Yamuna was flowing close to the warning mark in Delhi on Wednesday morning and is likely to swell further with more water being released into it from the Hathnikund barrage in Haryana, officials said. The water level was recorded at 203.78 metres at the Old Railway Bridge at 8 am.
