Delhi power subsidy: Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, who also holds the power portfolio, chaired a meeting on Saturday with senior officials of the power department, discoms and other departments concerned.
The Delhi government said that due to disruption of power supply from the Dadri-National Capital Power Station & Feroze Gandhi Unchahar Thermal Power Plant, there may be a problem with the 24-hour power supply to many essential institutions including Delhi Metro, hospitals.
Power consumption in the country grew by around 19 per cent in the first fortnight of May to 51.67 billion units (BU) over the same period last year, showing recovery in industrial and commercial demand of electricity, according to the power ministry data.
The power discoms in the national capital have filed tariff revision petitions to power regulator DERC, citing deficit of Rs 287 crore in the average revenue requirement for the year 2019-20, besides dues of the past.
