Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will move to the Supreme Court against the decision of the Delhi High Court dismissing the plea challenging his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate in the Excise Policy money laundering case. The matter was heard by the Delhi High Court on April 9.
The Delhi High Court dismissed Arvind Kejriwal's plea in connection with a money laundering case. The court observed that the arrest of the Delhi Chief Minister was not in contravention of legal provisions.
The court said that given the nature of the past relationship between the two, it was normal to think that the other person was wrong but the parties brought down the public discourse to a "fairly low" level.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is currently lodged in Tihar jail in the alleged liquor scam case. Former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia is also lodged in the same jail in the excise policy scam.
Kejriwal, who was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with a money-laundering case linked to the now-scrapped excise policy for Delhio on March 21, is currently lodged in Tihar Jail.
