Chaotic scenes prevailed at Maulana Azad Medical College, where the autopsy of the victims of the Anaj Mandi fire incident was done, as people said they were confused about how to transport the bodies of their relatives back home.
The railways will carry the bodies of the Bihar residents who died in the Anaj Mandi fire on Sunday to their home state, officials of the national transporter said.
Thousands of illegal buildings house factories with practically no safety measures, BJP's Vijay Goel said. A magisterial inquiry and Rs 10 lakh compensation will not help, he said, adding half of the buildings in the Chandni Chowk area in old Delhi were dilapidated.

Shukla told PTI that he has seen massive fires during his service but the Anaj Mandi incident was one of the deadliest. "I have handled close to 7,000 fire rescue calls and was a part of the rescue operation during the Hotel Arpit Palace Fire in Karol Bagh and the recent AIIMS hospital fire. This was one of the major fires in terms of the casualties," he told PTI.
In the worst fire accident since the 1997 Uphaar Cinema tragedy in the national capital, 43 people died when a massive blaze ripped through a four-storey building housing illegal manufacturing units in north Delhi's congested Anaj Mandi area on Sunday.
"Scientifically, the articles can only be collected after the fire has completely ended and we can get access to the rooms,"Laboratory Director Deepa Verma told PTI.
"People come from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. They are our brothers and sisters. They are out citizens. It is not the issue who comes from where. I want to tell on record that we should provide all necessary help to the affected families," Puri said.

Twenty two years later, on Sunday morning, December 8, 2019, another fire broke out in a factory in a crowded market in West Delhi's Rani Jhansi Road area killing 43 so far, making it Delhi's second worst fire incident since Uphaar tragedy.
Police said a case under section 304 of IPC (culpable homicide not amounting to murder punishable with a maximum imprisonment of 10 years) has been registered. The case has been transferred to crime branch.
The Delhi Fire Service received a call about the incident at 7.10 pm, following which four fire tenders were pressed into service.
Reason for the fire at ITO in Delhi could not be known. Fire tenders are present at the spot as the efforts to douse flames are underway. Any injuries or casualties were yet not reported.
