Curbs under Section 163 have been extended till December 31, owing to which, the Samajwadi leaders were also stopped from entering the violence-hit area last week.

Braving harsh cold, thousands of agitating farmers at the Delhi borders on Thursday remained steadfast in their demands to repeal the Centre's three new agri laws.
Farmer unions protesting at Delhi border points have announced to observe a relay hunger strike at all the protest sites to press for their demand to repeal the three farm laws. Farmers said that they will also halt toll collection on highways in Haryana from December 25 to 27.
The farmers' agitation in Delhi has entered it's 12th day today, with a large number of farmers gathered in and around the national capital to protest against the three farm laws. The agitating farmers have also called for a ‘Bharat bandh’ on December 8 and threatened to intensify their agitation, block more roads occupy toll plazas leading to the national capital if the government did not accept their demands.

As farmers from Punjab continue to protest against the newly passed farm bills, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday made an appeal to the protesting farmers saying that the government is ready to hold talks on the matter. In his appeal, Amit Shah said, "I appeal to the protesting farmers that government of India is ready to hold talks. Agriculture Minister has invited them on December 3 for discussion. Government is ready to deliberate on every problem and demand of the farmers."
