Sociedad said the 34-year-old Spaniard will join the rest of the squad in the coming days for preseason training.
Manchester City said a statue of Silva has been commissioned and will be unveiled in 2021, along with one of former captain Vincent Kompany.
Whatever happens over the coming days during the finale of Europe’s top club competition in Lisbon, the Spanish playmaker has already etched his name in City lore as perhaps its greatest player.
Silva joined City from LaLiga side Valencia in 2010 and has since gone on to win four Premier League titles and two FA Cups. He has also scored 77 goals and assisted 140 times so far for the club.
David Silva, 34, will end his 10-year spell at Manchester City with this season.
Silva scored a fine free-kick and also assisted another as City got back to winning ways following their shock loss at the hands of Southampton in their last match.
The Spanish midfielder joined Manchester City in 2010 from Valencia, and has since lifted four Premier League titles with the club.
