Cyclone Maha, currently raging over Arabian Sea has intensified into a 'Very Severe Cyclonic Storm'. India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Sunday evening that the cyclone is likely to travel Westwards (away from the Western coast of India) before recurving and moving eastwards.
In the next 24 hours, heavy rains were likely in most districts of Tamil Nadu, including those along the western ghats.
