The deep depression (remnant of cyclonic storm) is likely to weaken into a Depression on Thursday morning, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has earmarked a total of 50 teams for undertaking rescue and relief operations in areas affected by Asani.
A video shared by news agency ANI showed people pulling out the chariot from sea and dragging it to the shore. Naupada sub-inspector said that the intelligence department has been informed about the chariot.
As per IMD, the cyclone's recurve is possible after morning, and it will then come towards the Odisha coast, where heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected
Severe cyclone Asani neared the east coast, packing gale-force winds up to 105 kmph, amid indication of gradual weakening on Tuesday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
At least 11 fishermen from Odisha, who were stranded for around eight hours in the rough sea due to the raging severe cyclone 'Asani', were rescued on Monday with help of the Indian Coast Guard, an official said.
The weather office said very high sea conditions were likely to prevail over westcentral and adjoining south Bay of Bengal.
The IMD has predicted light to moderate rainfall likely at a few places with heavy rainfall at isolated places over coastal Odisha and adjoining areas of north coastal Andhra Pradesh from May 10 evening.
Cyclone genesis depends on a lot of factors such as wind pattern in the atmosphere, the sea conditions, and even wind shear, or the difference of winds in the lower layer and upper layer.
The depression in Bay of Bengal and South Andaman sea is also predicted to cause rain, accompanied with thunder and lightning.
