Speaking at the event, Thakur said, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi started this Fit India campaign in 2019 to make aware people of health and fitness".
In a bid to celebrate 75 years of Indian Independence, Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) in collaboration with Chennai Port Trust organised a cycle rally as a part of 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav' on Saturday. A total of 200 people participated in the rally and were seen cycling for 6.5 km.
Jammu and Kashmir LG Manoj Sinha flagged off CRPF's cycle rally from Jammu to Rajghat, New Delhi on Sep 23 under 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav'. "This rally has been organized under Azaadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. It is a great initiative to connect people with the history of India's freedom struggle," said CRPF DIG Bhanu Pratap Singh.
Irani said that the Poshan cycle rally is a unique initiative that is a mix of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's clarion call for 'Fit India' and 'Suposhit Bharat'.
