Delhi reported the highest number of cases of crimes against women in 2020 among the metropolitan cities, according to NCRB data.
As per the data, a total of 35,331 cases of crime against women were registered in 2020 whereas the number of cases in 2019 was 44,783, showing a decrease of 21.1 pc.
A teenage girl was slashed in her face with a knife by her neighbouring 23-year-old man in a molestation attempt at her home on Monday, police said.

What is strange is that these cases have been occurring at frequent intervals despite the government's claim that the law and order situation has improved in the state. The police, however, have refused to speak on the issue, only saying that the incidents are being investigated.
