RBI new Debit, Credit card rules: The Reserve Bank of India or RBI on Wednesday issued new rules for debit and credit cards to improve convenience and security. RBI has also asked banks to allow only domestic card transactions at ATMs and PoS terminals in India at the time of issuance/reissuance of card.
To improve user convenience and increase the security of card transactions,the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has asked all banks to give card users, credit and debit, the facility to enable/disable their cards for different types of use.
The RBI on Wednesday asked banks and other card-issuing companies to provide a facility to customers to switch on and off their debit or credit cards, a move aimed at enhancing security for digital transactions.
