Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Sunday announced that 2,000 new cow shelters will be constructed in the state which will facilitate stray cattle.
With winter setting in, the Ayodhya Municipal Corporation has decided to buy jute coats for the cows staying in different shelters of the holy city.
The Kamal Nath-led government is likely to bring an amendment to the Madhya Pradesh Cow Progeny Slaughter Prevention Act 2004 in the next Assembly session.
Adityanath said in case of encroachment on grazing land for cattle, immediate steps be taken for its removal and strict action be taken against the accused, according to an official release issued here Tuesday.
Raja Singh Lodh, who represents Goshamahal constituency in the Assembly, said in a video message posted on a social networking site that he has forwarded his resignation letter to Telangana BJP president K Laxman to keep his party away from trouble.
Singh, who has been booked several times by police for his controversial statements and speeches, said, "For cow protection...we will kill or we will die. Our aim is to see that cows are not slaughtered."
Earlier in April 2017, the Vasundhra Raje government in the state had in April last year imposed a 10 per cent surcharge on all non-judicial instruments for the protection of cows thus making rent agreements, mortgage papers and lease agreement costlier.
“Do one thing, make a law to declare cow the national animal, this way both cows and human lives will be safe. This will be useful for the country,” Madni said.
