In fresh advisory for testing COVID samples, Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) on Monday said that the contacts of Covid patients do not need testing unless identified as high risk based on age or comorbidities.
In the DDMA meeting earlier held today, it decided not to impose lockdown to contain the spread of COVID-19 and discussed further restrictions such as closing dine-in facility in restaurants and scaling down seating capacity in Metro trains and buses, officials said.
In total, 10 of the mutations from Omicron were found in the 25 samples taken in Cyprus. Eleven of the samples came from people who were hospitalized due to the virus.
