Amid oxygen shortage and faltering health system in the country, India witnessed 2,104 deaths in 24 hours, which is another record for India in the pandemic so far.
Raipur Collector has ordered an investigation into the incident. Officials have been directed to conduct safety check at all coronavirus hospitals.
With the country witnessing a worrying surge in Covid-19 cases, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan on Saturday directed the states and Union Territories to cope with the crisis by ensuring containment, surveillance and treatment of the coronavirus positive cases.
