Apple's performance in India's smartphone market has been remarkable, propelling it among the top 5 smartphone markets globally. Despite Apple's strong showing, Samsung continues to lead the overall smartphone market in India, maintaining its top position for the third consecutive quarter.
Counterpoint Research has stated that the global foldable smartphone market has experienced around 64% YoY growth in the first quarter of 2023. While witnessing around 14.2% decline in the overall global smartphone market, the foldable segment has managed to reach a significant milestone.
The global PC shipments declined by 27.8 per cent (year-on-year) in Q4 2022, reaching 65.2 million units. Also, the report has stated that overall shipments in 2022 have declined by 15 per cent (year on year). Consumer demand is expected to rebound in H2 2023 gradually.
Apple has reportedly captured 57 per cent of premium smartphone market sales, while Vivo surpassed OPPO to become the third largest premium smartphone brand for the first time.
According to market research firm Counterpoint, India's neckband market shipments declined 13 per cent year-over-year (YoY) in the first quarter of 2022 but grew 34 per cent YoY in 2021.
