Pakistan's Shia Hazara community members blocked several roads in Balochistan's capital city Quetta as they held protests against the massacre of 11 coal miners from the minority community by the Islamic State terrorists in the restive province, according to media reports on Monday.
The coal production in almost all the mines spread across six districts of Telangana was hit as majority of the over 50,000 employees joined the strike.
The mine was recently shut down following a state government order banning illegal coal mining and a provisional ban on licensed mining activity, police said.
Earlier on Friday, the tribunal had imposed a fine of Rs 100 crore on the Meghalaya government for its failure to curb illegal mining in the state.
