Gogoi's statement came as the 5-judge Constitution bench said that it is hearing the Ayodhya land dispute case for the last 39 days and no more time beyond today will be granted to parties to conclude the hearing in the case.
The Ayodhya title dispute may come to an end today with final submissions in the Supreme Court. Both Hindu and Muslim sides will conclude their arguments before the five-judge constitution bench -- CJI Ranjan Gogoi, Justice SA Bobde, Justice DY Chandrachud, Justice Ashok Bhushan and Justice SA Nazeer.
The Supreme Court on Wednesday set October 18 as the deadline to conclude all arguments in the Ayodhya land dispute case and urged all parties to make joint efforts. The top court also said that if parties to the Ram-Janmabhoomi Babri Masjid land dispute case want to amicably resolve the matter through mediation, they can still go ahead with it.
"If required, I will go and personally check, I will speak to the Chief Justice today," said Gogoi, while replying to senior advocate Huzefa Ahmadi, who claimed that there are extreme difficulties in accessing the High Court under the alleged lockdown situation in the erstwhile state.
