The announcement comes hours after the Congress party released its third list of 76 candidates for the second phase of the Gujarat Assembly election.
Congress general secretary Oscar Fernandes released the third list to the media late last night. The list featured at least 11 candidates from ST and three from SC communities.
As the Congress had declared earlier that it will be rewarding its loyal MLAs by letting them contest, most of the sitting members were renominated.
Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani targeted the opposition, saying it has no poll agenda or issues to raise against his government, while the BJP is seeking votes in the name of development.
