The law student who had accused former Union minister Chinmayanand of sexual exploitation completed admission formalities for the Masters of Law (LLM) course in Bareilly University on Friday, officials said.
A local court here on Thursday rejected the bail plea of Sanjay Singh, a friend of the law student who has accused former Union minister Swami Chinmayanand of rape. Sanjay Singh was booked in a case of extortion along with the woman and two others after they allegedly demanded Rs 5 crore from Chinmayanand. The woman is currently lodged in a jail.
The court deferred the hearing after briefly taking it up through video conferencing. "Chinmayamand had to reach the court for hearing but due to security reasons, the hearing was done through video conferencing," Chinmayanand's lawyer Om Singh said.
Two BJP leaders from Uttar Pradesh's Shajahanpur were now on the radar of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) which is probing sexual assault charges against former Union Minister Chinmayanand.

The matter of the law student's anticipatory bail hearing being heard by the Allahabad High Court, was to come up for hearing on Thursday, but the SIT did not wait for the court's ruling, as certain phone calls traced revealed that the victim was planning to escape.
The sources said that the victim has been involved in the extortion call made to Chinmayanand by her male companion, Sanjay Singh, and two cousins, Sachin Sengar and Vikram, and is named as one of the accused in the case.
Former Union Minister Chinmayanand, who was arrested today for raping a law student, has admitted to almost all the allegations levelled against him. "I am ashamed," Chinmayanand told the Special Investigation Team that made explosive revelations in the case.
Taking to twitter, she said it was the strength of the public and journalism that Chinmayanand had to arrested.
Chinmayanand has been taken for a medical examination. The case is being investigated by the SIT set up by Uttar Pradesh police on the directions of the Supreme Court.
