The sale of Chinese goods has gone down in Chandigarh after customers have started demanding Indian products from the shopkeepers.
The White House said talks would continue on Friday between top Trump administration officials and Chinese negotiators, said The New York Times.
The latest tariffs imposed by the Trump administration applies to over $250 billion of Chinese goods, roughly half the amount the country sells to the US.
A final decision on the tariff hike is however not expected before September.
President Donald Trump vowed to hit back on a growing list of products after China retaliated in kind for the first round of 25 per cent tariffs on USD 34 billion worth of imports, that Washington imposed last week.
