As per police reports, Ramchandra Jaiswal entered the well to take out a wooden strip after it fell into it. When he fainted, his family member shouted for help following which three others from the Patel family entered the water body.
The joint team of four security forces were out on an anti-Naxalite operation in the hilly forests of Naranpur. The forces in operation included District Reserve Guards, STF, BSF and ITBP.

Out of total nine Naxalites arrested in the joint operations, eight were arrested from different locations under Usoor police station area while one was arrested under Naimed police station limits.
So far this year, 123 Naxalites have been killed and 136 firearms recovered in 71 encounters in Bastar division, comprising Kanker, Kondagaon, Narayanpur, Bastar, Bijapur, Dantewada and Sukma districts, police said, adding during the same period, 339 Naxalites have surrendered in the division.

Six individuals, including four minors, have been detained for the allegedly raping a 13-year-old girl in Jashpur, Chhattisgarh. The incident occurred on June 4 when the girl was returning home from a wedding.
