It will be a rigorous "agnipariksha" of sorts for the moon-bound Chandrayaan-2 on Tuesday when the spacecraft undergoes a crucial orbit manoeuvre today. After a nearly 30-day journey, India's second mission the moon will be inserted into the lunar orbit between 8.30 am to 9.30 am this morning.
India's second moon mission 'Chandrayaan-2' left the earth's orbit early on Wednesday, 23 days after being launched, and is moving towards the moon following the successful completion of a crucial manoeuvre by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
The 3,850-kg Chandrayaan-2, a three-module spacecraft comprising orbiter, lander and rover, which was launched on July 22, would make a landing on the moon on September 7, the ISRO chief said.

State-owned SAIL on Monday said it supplied special-quality stainless steel from its Salem Steel Plant for the country's moon mission Chandrayaan-2.
After Chandrayaan-2, the ISRO has planned launch of its solar mission, Aditya-L1, in the first half of 2020 to study the Sun's corona, according to the space agency.
