The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) made a significant breakthrough on Tuesday by arresting Dheeraj Wadhawan in connection with the Rs 34,000 crore DHFL bank fraud probe.
The arrests come after the CBI uncovered a significant trafficking operation orchestrated by travel agents. These agents promised Indian youths opportunities in Russia but instead forced them into the conflict zone by seizing their passports.
Delhi excise policy scam case: Earlier, the trial court dismissed Sisodia's bail pleas in corruption and money-laundering cases in connection with alleged irregularities in the formulation and execution of the now-scrapped Delhi excise policy for 2021-22.
West Bengal has filed an original suit in the Supreme Court, accusing the CBI of continuing with investigations without seeking the state's prior approval.
The court has instructed state authorities to offer their "fullest cooperation" to the ongoing investigation. The next hearing is scheduled for June 13, with the CBI directed to submit a further progress report.
