The probing agency have alleged that the accused had accumulated disproportionate assets to the tune of around Rs 3,71,12,499 (approx) in the form of huge cash, bank balances, movable and immovable properties during 2017 to 2021 in the name of several family members.
Delhi excise policy scam case: CBI informed in a statement on Wednesday (February 8), that the accused CA has been arrested for his alleged role in formulating and implementing the Delhi Excise Policy and causing wrongful gain to Hyderabad-based wholesale and retail licensees.
Searches were conducted at around 19 locations including Assam, Imphal, Delhi, Bihar and Haryana at the premises of the accused and others which led to the recovery of approximately Rs. 1.02 crore.
CBI raids in J&K: The raids were conducted to ascertain irregularities in the recruitment exam of accounts assistants which was held on March 6, 2022.
Punjab: CBI registered a case against Jalandhar Police Commissioner Kuldeep Singh Chahal after several allegations levelled against him.
Searches were conducted at various places including Bhubaneswar, Jagatsinghpur (both in Odisha) and Kolkata. During searches, 03 locker keys of lockers in the name of the wife of the accused and other 05 locker keys of lockers whose names of owners were not readily available.
The Haryana government had transferred the case to the CBI on July 18, 2022 which was forwarded to the CBI by the Centre on December 29 last year, they said.
CBI raids Manish Sisodia office: In his statement, the Deputy CM has termed the whole exercise to be an act of malice detailing how the CBI raided his office on a Second Saturday (an official holiday) and gave a handwritten notice to the Secretary to seize a computer from the conference room.
The accused Railway official has been posted in Guwahati. According to reports, his associate Hariom Giri received the money in Delhi through hawala.
The Patna High Court had directed the CBI to file a case after taking over the probe from the local police.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday conducted searches at around 50 locations in connection with corruption in the Food Corporation of India, officials informed. According to reports, one DGM has been arrested.
Besides Jain, the CBI had also booked several senior PWD officials of that time, including Sarvagya Kumar Srivastava, Engineer in Chief, Manu Amitabh, Principal Director (Projects), A K Pait, Deputy Director (Administration), PC Chanana, Project Manager, and other unidentified officials.
All the accused who have been arrested will be produced before a special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court in Haryana's Panchkula.
Anil Deshmukh case: The 73-year-old Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader was granted bail by Justice MS Karnik on December 12, but the order was stayed for ten days to give the CBI time to appeal it in the Supreme Court.
These include romance scams, phone scams, mass-mailing fraud schemes, and tech-support fraud schemes.
Interestingly, the significant development came nearly a year after the Central Bureau of Investigation had closed the case against Yadav and his family members after it found "no concrete evidence that could prove the allegations".
Sukesh Chandrashekhar who is currently lodged in Delhi's Mandoli jail had earlier written a fresh letter to Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena seeking a CBI probe against Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and others for alleged threat and corruption.
Shivakumar stated that CBI has conducted raids on his educational institutions. "They (CBI) are conducting inquiries on our land and business. Our family is being hounded by the investigating agencies," he said.
Sarkari Naukri: Union Minister Jitendra Singh on Wednesday in Lok Sabha informed that there are numerous vacant posts in the Central Bureau of Investigation.
CBI took over the case from police after High Court's order. HC directed CBI to conduct a proper investigation and submit the charge sheet at the earliest.
