Farmers in Mandya, Karnataka, have been protesting against the release of Cauvery waters to Tamil Nadu. They are expressing strong discontent with the state government's adherence to the directives of the Cauvery Water Management Authority (CWMA).
The meeting was held after the Cauvery Water Regulation Committee (CWRC) recommended that Karnataka release 5,000 cusecs of water to Tamil Nadu for the next 15 days.
