The Cabinet has approved the National Mission on Natural Farming with a total outlay of Rs 2,481 crore. The mission will work to foster natural farming practices through traditional knowledge of agriculture.
An official order said, "The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of TV Somanathan, IAS (TN:87) as Cabinet Secretary with a tenure of two years from August 30, 2024".
The new positions are necessary to support the commission for its functions, while all other posts in the commission have already been created as per the delegated powers, according to an official statement.
