Maharashtra bus fire update: Around twenty-six passengers were charred to death as the private bus they were travelling in caught fire after hitting the divider on the Nagpur-Mumbai `Samruddhi Expressway' in eastern Maharashtra’s Buldhana.
Taking to Twitter, the BJP's Mumbai unit president Ashish Shelar expressed grief at the loss of lives in the expressway accident.
Buldhana bus accident: Authorities have decided to conduct DNA tests to ascertain the identity of the victims of the fatal bus accident that took place in Maharashtra's Buldhana district during the wee hours of Saturday (July 1).
Buldhana bus accident: "The bus driver and conductor have been taken into custody by police," said Maharashtra minister Girish Mahajan on the Buldhana bus tragedy.
Although officers at the scene counted 48 bodies, it was believed more people were trapped in the wreckage.
Andhra Pradesh: Many lives were saved as the driver quickly alerted the passengers on the bus about the fire due to a technical malfunction.
There were 34 passengers onboard, police said. Rescue officials said death toll could rise as some of the injured were critical.

Delhi bus accident: One unknown person was brought dead at Holy Family Hospital in Delhi on Wednesday while two of the injured are in critical condition, informed Delhi Police.
Reasi bus accident: Additional Director General of Police Jammu, Mukesh Singh said, "As per the driver's version, the accident happened after he lost control of the vehicle due to a sharp curve."
The Prime Minister and Chief Minister announced compensation to next of kin of those who lost their lives in the accident.
Himachal Pradesh bus accident: At 4:15 a.m., the accident occurred while the bus was traveling from Ballabgarh in Haryana to Baijnath in Kangra.
Two girls were killed when a roadways bus fell into a gorge. There were 22 people in the bus, including the driver.
The Pathanamthitta District Public Relations Department said the pilgrims are from the Mayiladuthurai district in Tamil Nadu.
J&K bus accident: According to officials, the incident took place as the driver lost control of the vehicle on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway in the Barsoo area.
Nigeria train-bus collision: According to locals, the bus driver ignored the rail-traffic signal and tried to cross the track which caused the accident.
Public prosecutor Cheikh Dieng said the crash happened on National Road No.1 when a public bus punctured a tire and veered across the road, colliding with another bus coming from the opposite direction.
