All the detainees are Bangladeshi nationals who reportedly crossed into India through Sonamura border in Sepahijala district of Tripura. It appears that the Indian tout was paid Rs 5,000 each for the illegal crossing. The preferred location for professional work was Delhi.
The BSF foiled an infiltration attempt at the India-Bangladesh border in Murshidabad, arresting four Bangladeshi nationals with fake Aadhaar cards. An Indian tout was also apprehended for facilitating the illegal entry.
