A two-year-old boy fell into an over 150-foot-deep borewell in a field near his house in Punjab's Sangrur district Thursday, officials said.
"When pulled out with the help of police and fire department personnel, the duo remained unconscious and were rushed to a hospital where they were declared dead," a police official said.
As soon as the news of the incident was received, local authorities rushed to the spot to rescue the child.
