Addressing the audience at Riasina Dialogue in New Delhi, General Rawat said Kashmiri youth is getting radicalised due to misinformation and falsehood about religion being fed to them.

"Aksar dekha gaya hai ki log Bharatiya Sena ko ek employment ka jariya manate hai, naukari hasil karane ka jariya (It is often seen that people feel the Army is a means of employment, a means to get a job)," Gen Rawat said.
Earlier in the day, Jeetu Fauji who allegedly shot at Police Inspector Subodh Singh was arrested.
The Army Chief's response came following Pak PM Imran Khan's statement acknowledging that the Mumbai terror attack was perpetrated by LeT.
While maintaining that there was no immediate threat of militancy in Punjab, the Indian Army Chief, General Bipin Rawat, said on Monday that there was a need to be alert about it.
"See we have a neighbouring country which always tries to vitiate atmosphere here. Our country is progressing which is not liked by them," Rawat told reporters.

General Rawat further added that the Indian Army would also be like Neeraj Chopra, the Asian Games javelin gold medallist who reached out to his Pakistani competitor, if Pakistan makes the first move.
Rawat said social media can be leveraged for psychological warfare and deception not just in conventional warfare, but also in combating proxy war insurgency and terrorism.
General Rawat stressed that the Army operates under strict guidelines that clearly point out that civilians should not be inconvenienced in any military action.
