The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) Yojana provides financial aid to landholding farmer families, offering Rs 2,000 every four months. Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the release of the 17th installment, totaling Rs 20,000 crore, benefiting 9.3 crore farmers.
The state governments have been told to instruct the local police to capture the biometric details of Rohingyas and other illegal immigrants, a senior Home Ministry official said.
The statement comes after some social media and online news channel reports suggested that key Aadhaar software was available in the black market which purportedly bypasses operators biometric authentication and facilitates making of Aadhaar cards without any documents.
