Pune Police on Wednesday claimed activist Gautam Navlakha, an accused Bhima-Koregaon violence, was in touch with Pakistan terrorist outfit Hizbul Mujahideen and Kashmiri separatist leaders.
Pune Police today arrested noted scholar and author Anand Teltumbde in the Elgar Parishad-Maoist links case after his anticipatory bail plea was rejected by a court on Friday.
Teltumbde filed the anticipatory (pre-arrest) bail application before the Pune court after the Supreme Court rejected his plea seeking to quash the FIR against him in the Elgar Parishad case.
The police had alleged that inflammatory speeches and provocative statements made by several activists during the Elgar Parishad conclave had contributed to the violence that broke out around Koregaon Bhima village the next day, January 1.
The bench has now posted the appeal for further hearing on December 11.
Gonsalves and Ferreira were taken into the custody by Pune police on Friday evening, hours after the court rejected their bail applications along with that of Sudha Bharadwaj.
