The debt-ridden state government has sanctioned Rs 2.61 crore for the swearing-in ceremony. Officials told wheat fields will be used for the parking of vehicles of the visitors coming to attend the ceremony that will last less than an hour.
Stressing that three crore Punjabis have ushered in an "inquilab" (revolution), the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said for the first time after so many years, Punjab has got an honest Chief Minister.
The 48-year-old Mann was elected the AAP Legislature Party leader at a meeting of the party MLAs in Mohali on Friday. Mann said the swearing-in ceremony will be held at 12:30 pm on March 16 at Khatkar Kalan, the ancestral village of legendary freedom fighter Bhagat Singh, in Nawanshahr district.
Preparations are underway in Amritsar to welcome Bhagwant Mann and Arvind Kejriwal. Cutouts and posters have been put up on the roads and lanes of Amritsar.
Some of the names whose security cover has been lifted include Punjab Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu and his wife Navjot Kaur.
Punjab chief minister-designate Bhagwant Mann met Governor Banwarilal Purohit on Saturday to stake claim to form the government in the state. Mann was elected as the AAP Legislature Party leader at a meeting of the party MLAs in Mohali on Friday. AAP Punjab in-charge Raghav Chadha also accompanied Mann to the Governor house.
Mann will take oath as the chief minister of Punjab on March 16 at Khatkar Kalan, the ancestral village of legendary freedom fighter Bhagat Singh, in Nawanshahr district.
Of the multiple states in northwest India, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi and some part of Uttar Pradesh share the same water infrastructure and are regulated by two bodies and agreements:
Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh and comedian Kapil Sharma took to social media to extend their wishes to Bhagwant Mann. In 2016, Bhagwant Mann participated in the stand-up comedy show The Great Indian Laughter Challenge.

Mann added that only picture of Saheed Bhagat Singh and Baba Saheb Ambedkar will be in offices.
Bhagwant Mann while addressing AAP workers said that opposition parties targeted Arvind Kejriwal and him using personal comments and passed derogatory remarks. "Today I want to tell them that the kind of language you used, you are welcome to it. You made personal comments about us and our families but people didn’t like that. Today, we forgive them but from now onwards they will have to respect 3 crore Punjabis," he said.

Bhagwant Mann is a candidate from Dhuri constituency in the Sangrur district. Earlier today he had said that Congress and BJP have joined together for levelling allegations against AAP but the people of the state know everything.
Channi questioned AAP on how can anyone give command of Punjab to such a person.

Bhagwant Mann is fighting elections from Dhuri assembly constituency in Punjab.
Punjab Assembly elections will be held on February 20, 2022. The results will be declared on March 10.
