Central Govt has been stepwise imposing officers and personnel from other states and services in Chandigarh administration. This goes against the letter and spirit of Punjab Reorganisation Act 1966. Punjab will fight strongly for its rightful claim over Chandigarh, CM Bhagwant Mann said on Monday.
Mann said the Arvind Kejriwal government had started this scheme in Delhi too, "but unfortunately it was stopped. But in Punjab we are going to implement this scheme and we will run it successfully".
"Ex-MLAs in Punjab, even if they have won twice, five times or ten times, they will now get a pension for one term only," said Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann in a video message, adding that several MPs are also getting pension for remaining MLAs earlier.
Bhagwant Mann apprised the prime minister about the poor fiscal health of the state and said the previous governments have left a whopping burden of Rs 3 lakh crore.

The swearing-in ceremony of the Mann's cabinet will be held at Punjab Raj Bhawan at 11 am.
In a tweet, AAP's Bhagwant Mann said that the helpline number will be his own personal WhatsApp number.
Navjot Singh Sidhu had made the remark welcoming the change, ushered by the people and emphasising that their verdict should be 'humbly accepted'.
