BJP has fielded Priyanka Tibrewal, a lawyer by profession as its candidate in the upcoming Bhabanipur bypolls pitting her against West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on September 30.

Bhabanipur bypoll: Mamata Banerjee will file her nomination today, As per the schedule, polling will take place on September 30 while results will be announced on October 4.
The by-poll was necessitated due to resignation of TMC MLA Sovandeb Chattopadhyay who vacated the seat to allow Banerjee to contest from there.
The Congress will neither field any candidate opposite Banerjee nor campaign against her in the run up to the September 30 bypoll, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury said.
The notification for the Bhabanipur bypoll was issued on September 6, beginning the nomination process. September 13 is the last date of filing nominations, while scrutiny of papers will take place on September 14. September 16 is the last date to withdraw from the electoral battle. Counting will be held on October 3.
The Mamata Banerjee-led TMC registered a landslide victory in polls winning 213 seats in the 294-member West Bengal assembly.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will contest from Bhabanipur in the upcoming by-election on September 30. TMC candidates Jakir Hossain and Amirul Islam have been fielded from Jangipur and Samserganj seats respectively.
