BCCI Secretary Jay Shah had recently cleared that if a player is fit, then he should be available to play domestic cricket without any reason. Ishan Kishan, Shreyas Iyer and Deepak Chahar were specifically told to play for their state teams from next round of Ranji Trophy that began on February 16.
A few Indian players are away from the team and the NCA currently but are still not playing in the Ranji Trophy tournament. The Board of Control for Cricket in India secretary Jay Shah has called this a "significant issue".
The Indian Board has reportedly sent an email to mandate the participation of the players not part of the Indian team and not at the NCA to play the next round of the Ranji Trophy tournament. This indirectly sends a message to the players like Ishan Kishan, Krunal Pandya and Deepak Chahar.
The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) took place over the course of two days in Bali. During the meeting, it has been decided unanimously that Jay Shah who is also the BCCI Secretary will continue at the top post of ACC.

The new rule regarding stumping referrals is aimed at getting rid of the flaws that persisted in the old ruling and allowed the fielding side to take undue advantage of it. It reportedly came into effect on December 12, 2023.
The plan would reward the uncapped players with an incentive if they get to play International matches in between seasons rather than their existing league fee. The players are given the same league fee for three years or until they are released by an IPL franchise, as per normal rules.
Chetan Sakariya's name was initially included by the BCCI in a list of 'reported but not banned' in a suspected action list. However, his name has now been removed. His name was included in place of a Karnataka bowler, who shares a similar name to that of the Saurashtra bowler.
The BCCI announced India's 15-strong squad for the Under-19 World Cup in South Africa and the tri-series before that. Captain Uday Saharan will continue to lead the side. India will begin their campaign against Bangladesh on January 20 in Bloemfontein.
The BCCI announced the final shortlist of 333 players set to be auctioned on December 19 in Dubai ahead of the 2024 edition of the IPL. Out of 333 players, 214 are Indians and 119 are overseas, of which two are from Associate nations. 77 spots are up for grabs at the IPL 2024 auction.
"We have so many venues, even in Gujarat, where we have Ahmedabad, Rajkot and after a few years Baroda can build their own stadium. Basically, it is a joint call between the franchises and the BCCI. We will let you know. It will be in one state, that is for sure," Jay Shah said.

As per reports, Virat Kohli has opted out of white-ball series against South Africa. BCCI has offered Rahul Dravid a contract extension as Team India head coach.
Rahul Dravid's contract as India's head coach officially ended in World Cup 2023 where India lost to Australia in the final. Even the support staff comprising Vikram Rathore, Paras Mhambrey and T Dilip will continue in their respective roles now.
The BCCI is yet to take a final call regarding the Indian men's team head coach after Rahul Dravid's stint ended with the World Cup 2023. The board has now offered a contract extension but there has been no response from Dravid as wait continues for India's new coach ahead of South Africa series.
The BCCI is currently engaged in talks and discussions with Rahul Dravid, the Indian head coach, whose tenure ended with the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup. Dravid was hired for the top job for a two-year period after Ravi Shastri didn't renew his contract following the T20 World Cup 2021.
Musheer Khan, the 18-year-old batting all-rounder, has already played three first-class matches and scored a triple hundred for Mumbai in the CK Nayudu Trophy. Musheer is the only player from the Mumbai Cricket Association selected for the U19 Asia Cup 2023.
