The Supreme Court Wednesday ordered transfer of the Shahjahanpur law student, who levelled harassment allegations against former union minister and BJP leader Swami Chinmayanand, and her brother to other law colleges affiliated to Bareilly university saying, "for us their future is important".
The apex bar body said that it would lay stress on the improvement of the standard of existing institutions and that the ones without any proper infrastructure or faculty would be closed down in the next three years.
The Jammu Bar Association and lawyers in Kathua have been opposing the action against the accused in the horrific case, alleging that the minority Dogras were being targeted.
An uneasy truce was reached on Tuesday after the CJI reached out to the four dissenting judges to resolve a rift with them over the allocation of cases in the Supreme Court.
"Kahani khatam ho gaya (the story is now over)", BCI Chairman Manan Kumar Mishra told a press conference here.
"We have been told that there is no crisis. It is an internal matter which will be resolved soon. I am sure a solution will be found in 2-3 days," Manan said after Bar Council delegation's meeting with Justice Chelameswar.
The BCI said the four senior-most judges going public with their differences with the CJI had given an opportunity to the political parties and leaders to interfere in the affairs of the judiciary.
