The outrush of illegal Bangladeshi migrants from India to their native land has gone up over the past one month, BSF officials said on Friday in the backdrop of the enactment of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act.
"We would like to know as to how many detention centres are there in Assam. We also want to know as to how many persons are lodged there and since when," the bench said.
The second and final draft of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) is scheduled to be published on July 30 when the fate of all 3.29 crore applicants will be decided.
The number of migrants from all countries living in India now is 5.2 million, a fall of 1.22 million from 2000, the UN report said.
