PM Modi reaches Ranchi, will roll out Ayushman Bharat -Pradhan Mantri Jan Aarogya Yojana
PM Modi’s ambitious scheme, that has been renamed as Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Abhiyan (PMJAY), will provide a coverage of Rs five lakh per family annually.

Baby Karishma is the first beneficiary of India’s ambitious Ayushman Bharat Yojana.
Karishma's father Amit Kumar became the first beneficiary of the PMJAY scheme when the hospital was reimbursed Rs 9,000 for Karishma's birth by Caesarean section.
The ambitious Ayushman Bharat-National Health Protection Mission (AB-NHPM) aims to provide a coverage of Rs 5 lakh per family annually, benefiting more than 10 crore poor families.
A Health Ministry release said that ABNHPM guidelines on beneficiary identification very clearly state that people can bring any other valid identity proof approved by the state if they do not have an Aadhaar.
PM Modi on Sunday chaired the fourth meeting of Governing Council of Niti Aayog. During the inaugural address, PM Modi hailed the national 'Team India' spirit in policy implementation and cited GST rollout as its prime example.
Making an appeal to Maoists to shun violence, PM Modi said it is the government's duty to protect the rights of every citizen.
PM Modi also inaugurated a slew of projects in Bijapur, including the Ayushman Bharat Scheme.
Speaking during an event to mark the launch of Ayushman Bharat scheme, which is being touted as the world's biggest health scheme, PM Modi hailed the contribution of Bhimrao Ambedkar in the upliftment of the deprived sections of the society.
NHPM will cover over 10 crore poor families (approximately 50 crore people), providing a coverage of up to Rs 5 lakh.
The scheme has the benefit cover of Rs. 5 lakh per family per year. The target beneficiaries of the proposed scheme will be more than 10 crore families belonging to poor and vulnerable population based on SECC database.
