The Supreme Court is likely to announce a verdict which could have an impact on the long-pending contentious issue of Ram temple on Ayodhya today.

The apex court will deliver its ruling while hearing plea by Muslim litigants seeking direction that a larger Constitution bench hear the batch of petitions challenging the 2010 Allahabad High Court verdict which directed splitting into three parts the disputed site at Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh.
The meeting will be organised a fortnight before Pravin Togadia, former VHP leader, takes out a Lucknow-Ayodhya march for constructing a temple at the site.

They said that “the matter of the temple will have to be taken seriously. If this isn't taken up, we'll see what to do in 2019 General Elections'.
A three-judge bench of the Allahabad High Court, in a 2:1 majority ruling, had in 2010 ordered that the land be partitioned equally among three parties -- the Sunni Waqf Board, the Nirmohi Akhara and Ram Lalla.

Speaking at India TV Samvaad Conclave, Patra exuded confidence that the Supreme Court verdict will come in the favour of Hindus.
Nadvi said that while the AIMPLB was for issues related to personal laws, there was a need to constitute a board, from where the voice of the opressed could be raised.
