In a statement by SBI said that the bank is constantly monitoring the situation and making immense efforts to ensure the supply of currency in abundance at all its ATMs.
"In the next couple of days, we will have a supply of about Rs 2,500 crore worth of Rs 500 notes per day. In a month, supply would be about Rs 70,000-75,000 crore. These notes alone can more than meet the demand of any month," a senior official said.
A majority of ATMs in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have gone dry, forcing the people run from one ATM to another in search of cash.
