According to the daily flood report of the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), Bongaigaon is the worst affected where almost 53,000 people are in distress, followed by Dhemaji (over 16,000) and Chirang (over 13,200).
The Assam government has added sanitary napkins to the list of relief materials to be distributed among women and adolescent girls affected byfloods and other natural disasters.
This year's flood and landslides have thus claimed 136 lives across the state so far. While 110 people died in flood-related incidents, 26 were killed in landslides.
Chief Minister of Assam, Sarbananda Sonowal, inspected the flood affected areas in Assam's Dhakuakhana on July 29.

The flood situation has worsened in Bihar while there is a slight improvement in Assam.
