Owaisi accused the BJP government of not allowing Muslim girls to wear a hijab and also shared a video clip on Twitter.
All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) Asaduddin Owaisi continued his opposition over the ongoing hijab controversy, which has now reached the political corridors. During an election rally in Moradabad Owaisi criticised the state government's order banning hijab in schools and pre-university colleges.
Several protests have erupted in Karnataka after some students were allegedly denied entry to college wearing hijab (a headscarf worn by Muslim women) on February 4. The students at the Government Girls PU college in Udupi district alleged that they had been barred from attending classes.
Home Minister Amit Shah requested the Muslim leader to accept Z category protection, offered by the government after a recent attack on his car, saying he still faces a security threat.
Asaduddin Owaisi's car came under attack in Hapur while he was returning to Delhi after attending election-related events in Meerut last week. No one was injured in the incident.
The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen chief also alleged that those behind the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi were the ones who opened fire at him.
A day after gun attack on him, AIMIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi was provided Z category security by the government. However, Owaisi rejected the security cover, demanding UAPA against those involved in the attack.
Both the assailants have been arrested, and according to media reports, they have revealed that they belong to a Hindu outfit. They have been identified as Sachin Sharma, a law student from Badalpur, Greater Noida, and Shubham, from Saharanpur.
The Centre decided to provide Asaduddin Owaisi with Z category security after reviewing the threat level in the light of Thursday's gun attack near Delhi.
"Two persons have been arrested for firing on AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi's convoy while he was returning to Delhi after campaigning in UP. The investigation is underway," Superintendent of Police Hapur, Deepak Bhuker said.
UP Police has arrested one of the attackers and detained another person. Police said the interrogation of attackers is underway.
Speaking further on the incident, Owaisi urged that the UP government should take necessary action immediately, as this 'isn't an act of two people'. He claimed that there is a conspiracy involved in this attack.
Asaduddin Owaisi's car was near the Chhijarsi toll plaza on the Hapur-Ghaziabad stretch of the National Highway 24 when the incident took place at around 6 pm.
AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi's convoy was attacked during his return from Meerut. Four rounds of firing were targeted on his vehicle. Reacting to the same, he spoke to India TV and claimed that the attack was well planned and CM Yogi should have the incident investigated.
The Hyderabad MP earlier informed through social media post that he was attacked by at least two shooters near the Chhajarsi toll plaza on the Hapur-Ghaziabad stretch of the National Highway 24 at about 6 PM on Thursday (February 3, 2022).

Speaking at India TV's Chunav Manch 2022, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi said that the fight between Yogi Adityanath and Akhilesh Yadav is to prove who is a bigger Hindu than Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
