Speaking to reporters at Ulhasnagar in the Thane district, Athawale said he would request Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray to ensure that the state and Mumbai are rid of drugs.
Hours after a team busted an alleged drugs party on the Cordelia Cruise ship which was on its way to Goa, Aryaan Khan, Arbaaz Merchant, Munmun Dhamecha, three of the eight detained persons in connection with the raid have been arrested by the NCB.
A raid was conducted by Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) at a party held on a cruise ship off Mumbai coast on Saturday night. Eight people were detained on Sunday. The operation followed a tip-off on the proposed rave party that was planned aboard a cruise ship bound on a Mumbai-Goa voyage, setting sail from the International Cruise Terminal, Mumbai.
"Aryan Khan, Arbaz Seth Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha, who were detained in connection with the raid at a party at a cruise off the Mumbai coast, were taken out of the NCB office for medical examination", reported ANI.
The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) searched a cruise late on Saturday and seized drugs detaining eight people, including Aryan Khan the son of Bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan. Aryan along with Arbaz Seth Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha have been remanded to NCB custody till October 4.
"We are acting in an impartial manner. In the process, if some connections to Bollywood or rich people emerge, so be it. We have to act within the purview of the law," NCB chief SN Pradhan said on the seizure of drugs from a party at a cruise off Mumbai coast.

Aryan Khan -- the son of Bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan and producer Gauri Khan -- is among the youngsters being probed by the Narcotics Control Bureau, which bust a rave party aboard a luxury cruise liner on Saturday. Apart from him, Arbaaz Merchant, Munmun Dhamecha, Nupur Sarika, Ismeet Singh, Mohak Jaswal, Vikrant Chhoker, Gomit Chopra are also being questioned.
