A five-judge bench headed by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud observed that once Article 1 of the Constitution says India shall be a Union of States, including Jammu and Kashmir, the transfer of sovereignty was complete in all respects.
Earlier on August 5, 2019, the Centre abrogated Article 370 granting special status to Jammu and Kashmir and bifurcated the erstwhile state into two Union Territories – Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
Mehbooba Mufti claimed that she was put under house arrest on the fourth anniversary of the abrogation of Article 370. She claimed that several of her party leaders were detained at the police stations.
The PDP plans to hold a public programme at Sher-e-Kashmir Park in Srinagar on the occasion of the fourth anniversary of the abrogation of Article 370.
Several petitions challenging the abrogation of the provisions of Article 370 and the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Act, 2019, were filed in the Supreme Court which were combined in a batch.
According to the information, a five-judge Constitution bench said the matter will be heard on a day-to-day basis, except on Mondays and Fridays.
Supreme Court will hear on July 11 pleas challenging the abrogation of Article 370 from the Constitution, which gave a special status to erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir.
PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti on Saturday urged CJI Chandrachud for an early hearing on the batch of petitions challenging the revocation of Article 370 from Constitution.
The critical G20 Summit is due to be held on May 22-24, despite neighbouring Pakistan and its "all-weather friend" trying to politicise the matter by racking up the issue of abrogation of Article 370 from the valley.
Under India's presidency, the third G20 Tourism Working Group meeting is scheduled to take place in Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir from May 22 to 24.
Responding to a question from reporters at the conclusion of the SCO foreign ministers' meeting in Goa, Jaishankar said, "...wake up and smell the coffee. 370 is history. The sooner people realise it, the better it is."
This is for the first time after the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35-A, Jammu and Kashmir will be hosting an international event.
Notably, General Bajwa was the same military official who was allegedly responsible for the ouster of former PM Imran Khan. At least, Khan accused him of his dramatic removal.
"Maybe it's very foolish on my part but it's more of an emotional issue," said Mufti.
During the conference, Mufti raises grave questions about the appointment of lieutenant governor and other top positions in the valley and asserted the Centre of making BJP Rashtra.
Mufti also upheld her father Mufti Mohammad Sayeed's decision to join hands with the saffron brigade to form the government in the valley during the 2014 Assembly polls.

One of the part of discussions during the meeting was understanding how Pakistan may react after the government would have announced the "path breaking declaration", Lt General (retired) KJS Dhillon said.
