Special News | Don't make mistake to test Indian Army's patience: General Naravane's stern message to China

Chief of Army Staff Gen MM Naravane on Friday said no one should make any mistake of testing India's patience though it is committed to resolve the border standoff along the northern frontier through talks and political efforts.

During the Army Day celebrations on January 15, Indian Army Chief General MM Naravane told that over 200 terrorists near LoC and in counter-terrorism operations in last year. "Around 300-400 terrorists are sitting in training camps near the border to infiltrate into the Indian territory. Number of ceasefire violations went up by 44 per cent last year, which shows the nefarious intentions of Pakistan. Last year, the Army eliminated over 200 terrorists near LoC and in counter-terrorism operations," said General MM Naravane.

The Army Day celebrations began in Delhi. Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat, Army Chief General MM Naravane, IAF Chief Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria and Navy Chief Admiral Karambir Singh paid tributes at National War Memorial. Army Day is celebrated on Jan 15 every year. On this day in 1949, Field Marshal KM Cariappa became the first Indian to take charge of the Indian Army.
