Chandrashekhar B Sawant, the motorman (driver), was steering the Churchgate-bound 7.06 am suburban train from Borivli, saw a portion of the road over bridge falling as he was nearing the Andheri station.
A part of road over-bridge (ROB) collapsed on rail tracks in suburban Andheri at about 7.30 am bringing the local train services of Western Railway to a grinding halt.
The incident took place at about 7.30 am. Local train services between Virar and Churchgate have been suspended as the debris fell on the rail track.
