According to the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR), the level of PM 2.5 and PM 10 in the air at 9 am stood at very poor and moderate levels, respectively.
In view of the air quality standard, SAFAR issued an advisory to reduce heavy exertion. According to SAFAR prediction, the AQI in national capital will deteriorate to 321 and will remain in the 'very poor' category on Tuesday.
The PM 10 level were recorded at 255 in the 'poor' category and PM 2.5 levels were recorded at 132 in the 'very poor' category, as per thr SAFAR.
The panel stopped the entry of trucks in Delhi, except the electric ones and those running on Compressed Natural Gas, besides trucks carrying essential commodities.
The city's 24-hour air quality index (AQI) stood at 406 on Friday. Neighbouring Faridabad (434), Ghaziabad, (376) Gurugram (378) and Noida (392) also recorded their air quality in the 'very poor' category.
Delhi govt has also decided to allow the entry of all CNG and electric vehicles in the city from November 27.
An AQI between 0-50 is considered good, 51-100 is satisfactory, 101-200 moderate, 201-300 poor, 301-400 very poor and 401-500 are marked as severe/hazardous.
The air quality in Delhi continues to remain in the 'severe' category with the AQI standing at 436, said the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR) on Sunday.
At 5 pm on Kali puja day (Thursday), the Air Quality Index (AQI) was 260 at Rabindra Bharati University (RBU) area, 171 at Ballygunje, 227 at Bidhannagar, 189 at Fort William, 229 at Jadavpur, 146 at Victoria Memorial and 148 at Rabindra Sarobar air monitoring station, WBPCB official said
According to the latest update by System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR), the air quality in several areas in Delhi was recorded in the "very poor" category with AQI ranging around 400
AQI between zero and 50 is considered 'good', 51 and 100 'satisfactory', 101 and 200 'moderate', 201 and 300 'poor', 301 and 400 'very poor', and 401 and 500 'severe'.
According to The concentrations of PM 2.5 and PM 10 stood at 252 in the 'poor' and 131 in the 'very poor' category respectively.
Authorities said Delhi's air quality may get pushed to the "poor" zone on Wednesday and to the very poor category over the next five days because of an increase in stubble burning.
The higher the AQI value, the more polluted the air. An AQI above 200 is considered poor while that above 300 is categorised as very poor by the CPCB.
With the onset of winter and the withdrawal of monsoon in the northwest region of the country, the wind changes direction from easterly to north-westerly.
"There is a chance of light to moderate rainfall in Delhi and its adjoining areas," a MET official said, adding that the intensity of rain will start reducing from Monday with no rain was expected on Wednesday.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that there are chances that the air quality could deteriorate again from October 10.

Air Quality Management Commission has directed Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Rajasthan to prepare a time-bound action plan to shift all identified industries units in NCR to piped natural gas (PNG).
