The Supreme Court on Monday said it would hear next week a plea challenging the DoT's notification on mandatory linking of mobile numbers with Aadhaar.
Telecom subscribers will not need to visit the outlets of their service providers to link their mobile numbers with Aadhaar.
The court said that the banks and telecom service providers should indicate the last date of linking bank accounts and mobile numbers with Aadhaar in the messages sent by them to their customers.
The Centre cited a February 6 order of the apex court where it had approved mandatory Aadhaar-mobile phone linkage in the Lokniti Foundation case with a window of one year.
